The newer versions of ACT! have a beautiful layout that resembles Outlook in many ways – there is a large block of buttons and information on the right of the screen. This is great unless you have a complicated layout that runs to the right of the screen and you are of a ‘certain age’ that doesn’t want to have the font size reduced to 8 point!

If you have a newer version of ACT! and would like more fields and less buttons, there is an arrow at the right of the navigation column, allowing you to collapse the bar, reducing the navigation to icons only.

Another option available to you is the ability at the lower portion of the navigation pane to display few buttons or add and remove them entirely:

I love this new interface but prefer the smaller icon view, allowing me to see my screen fields more than my navigation buttons.
